Dr Lizette Weilbach

Dr Lizette Weilbach is a senior lecturer at the University of Pretoria with more than 25 years of academic, training, and consulting experience. She specializes in Business Analysis, Information Systems Development, Change Management, Design Thinking, and Project Management, and holds a PhD in Information Technology from the University of Pretoria.

She has supervised over 100 postgraduate students and is currently mentoring 9 master’s and 7 doctoral candidates. Her research interests include digital transformation, Society 5.0 innovation, SME innovation, Agile development methodologies, project management practices, and the integration of AI in business and education.

Dr Weilbach is also a seasoned facilitator of executive education, having developed and delivered professional programmes in business analysis (a programme endorsed by the International Institute of Business Analysis – IIBA®), information systems development, project management, and design thinking for organisations such as SARS, Old Mutual, AfroCentric Group, and BMW.

Her academic research contributions are internationally recognised — she has presented research papers and led workshops at conferences across South Africa, Europe, Mauritius, and the United States, including events such as ICIS, ECIS, I3E, and Society 5.0.

Beyond her professional work, Lizette is married and a proud mother of two sons. She enjoys traveling, reading, and photography. Her passion lies in empowering professionals to lead change, foster innovation, and enable sustainable success in today’s digital business environment.

  1. PMI (Project Management Institute) – USA and Globally
  2. ECSA (Engineering Council of SA)
  3. SACPCMP (South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions)
  4. SACNASP (South African Council for Natural Scientific Professionals)
  5. PMSA (Project Management South Africa)

On successful completion of the PPM, suitable candidates may be eligible to apply for the professional designation of Project Manager (PM) conferred by Project Management South Africa (PMSA). PMSA is the SAQA recognized professional body representing the interests of project managers across sectors.
