Mr Jansen has proven his ability to excel in a wide range of fields and during his studies entered the market in 1994 on a part time basis.  During this time he got involved in projects such as STL Managing Services (Pretoria Pension Building - 1994), Wilgers Townhouse complex Development (1995), University Housing Department (low cost housing – 1995 to 1996) and Oilland (Development of petrol stations – 1996).  This included responsibilities such as Project Management and Coordination, Quantity Surveying, Supervision and General Tender Work.  

In 1996 he was appointed fulltime by Wiehahn Construction and fulfilled his position as Construction Manager.  A year later he joined Jan de Jong & Sons as Assistant Quantity Surveyor.  His duties included the building of a shopping centre with 53 shops (Spar), tender work at the Northdale Shopping Centre and Assistant Quantity Surveyor for the Pretoria Academic Hospital. 

From 1998 to 2000 he joined ABSA (PROPS) Gauteng West and was appointed as Assistant Portfolio Manager. He was responsible for negotiating internal and external leases; for promoting vacant spaces; managing service contracts and debtor credit control. The portfolio mainly consisted of ABSA owned buildings and leased banking halls in Johannesburg CBD.

Due to his determination to succeed and ability to develop he joined ABSA Credit Change towards the end of 2003. He gained experience as far as design recommendations and development of new improved business solutions. During this time he offered support in analysing and assessing internal audits.  During this period he was also part of the implementation and incorporation of the TRIAD scoring system within the Home Loan Credit Services (HLSC/MAC).  He was responsible for the keeping of the issue log as an outcome from the National Implementation programme and developed and applied the Two Touch principle within the “Commercial Credit Services”.  He obtained valuable industrial engineering experience through his involvement with the Automated Behavioural Scoring Project (TRIAD) and the streamlining of Absa Policies and Procedures applicable to personal and small business credit services. 

In 2004 he was appointed by the University Pretoria as a full time lecturer in the Department of Construction Economics.  He got involved in projects such as the expansion and renovation of a residential house, investigation and implementation of innovative building methods (Berakah, Get Connected Holdings & VIVA Business Center).  He has also successfully developed Bikibos Private Game Lodge (Holiday Resort) and is responsible for the facility management there-of to date. 

Besides the fact that Mr Jansen has a solid background in both theory and practice he achieved various accomplishments and was nominated as a Finalist in the Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce - Nedbank Young Entrepreneur; in two consecutive years he achieved the award for Extra-Ordinary Partner (2010 & 2011) in community engagement.  During this time (2010) he also received an award for Education Innovation (The implementation of innovative teaching methods to third year students at the University Pretoria).  In 2012 he received the Ultimate Laureate Award on Education Innovation for the implementation of innovative teaching methods to Construction Economics students at the University of Pretoria.
