RICKY NDLOVU, 7 MAY 2024
I would firstly like to thank the Lectures, the Course Coordinators of this Program in Project Management, and I am honored to have won the Best Project Plan Award, it all came from dedication and listening attentive to lectures and attending all classes for all modules.
I am working for the Department of Employment and Labour “Compensation Fund” to be specific, in my line of work I belong to a team that is responsible for developing new systems to better the service delivery to the people of South Africa, the main reason I decided to enroll for the program in Project Management was to gain appropriate skills and knowledge in order to execute projects very effectively.
The most valuable Module amongst others was Project Management Principles, Practice and Scheduling.
Provided me with the knowledge of having a clear objective with regards to deliverables and stakeholder engagements, project scope management, risk management, change management and continuous improvements.
Project management practices enlighten me on how to use the Methodology, tools and techniques used to plan, execute and control projects:
- Project Initiation
- Project Planning
- Project Execution
- Project monitoring
- Project Closure
NB! Important structure that I use in order to succeed in my projects is the WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) which ensure the following:
- Activity Sequencing
- Duration Estimation
- Critical path Analysis
- Scheduling Development
With this knowledge and skills, I am now able to create well-defined projects, and my organization has gained a Project Manager that will improve on the Mission and Vision which is to be a world class provider of sustainable compensation for occupational injuries and diseases, rehabilitation and reintegration services, provide efficient, quality client-centric and accessible services to all.
Kind Regards
